New York Fashion Week: Backstage at Vivienne Tam SS2012

The Show: Vivienne Tam SS2012
The Look: Tam's SS2012 show was entitled Zen Garden and took inspiration from all things nature.
The Makeup:
Maybelline lead artist, Andy Koh, followed the Zen Garden theme using Eye Studio Cream Shadow in Pedal To The Metal, Color Explosion Luminizing Eye Shadow in Forest Fury, and Color Plush Silk Eyeshadow in Irresistibly Ivy. Koh used the green and gold shades from Forest Fury on the lids, then used the copper shade from Irresistibly Ivy on the outside of the lower lid for a glowy effect. My favorite part of this look, that I will definitely be trying at home, was to take the gold shades from Pedal To The Metal and apply them over your lipstick (Color Sensational High Shine Lipcolor in Coral Luster was used for the show) for a metallic shine.

The Hair:
Leon Gorman for Cutler Salon gave girls a loose bun that was meant to look like they could do it themselves. (Yay for us at home!) He started by blowing the hair dry with Redken Full Frame 07 (a volumizing mousse to amplify the texture). Hair was given a low side part and pulled back in to a ponytail, then the pony was wrapped into a loose bun. After the bun was secured with pins, hair was mussed up with the fingers around the bun, the bangs, and the part, then sprayed with Redken Fashion Work 12.
