Backstage at Kate Spade Spring 2013

Nails:
Kate Spade has always been known for her ultra-feminine collections, and this time was no exception with frilly frocks of pastel and gingham.  The very sweet collection, that reminds me of a time where record players, drive-in movies, and milkshake shops existed, was complimented quite nicely with a gingham nail look from Deborah Lippmann.  There were various shades of gingham, including orange, mint green, pink, yellow, and blue (pictured above), but they all started with a base of Lippmann's Amazing Grace (an opaque white).  From there the stripes were painted on, using I Kissed A Girl* for the pink version, My Prerogative* for the blue version pictured, It Girl* for the yellow, and Lara's Theme for the orange.  For the mint green version, Deborah mixed together Amazing Grace, On The Beach, and Yellow Brick Road for the perfect shade.
*I Kissed A Girl and It Girl are both from the Run The World (Girls) set.
*My Prerogative is from the She's Always A Woman set.

Makeup:
Neil Scibelli used Jouer Cosmetics for beautiful skin, with a bold, yet still somehow sweet, blue eyeshadow look.  To start Neil used Jouer Matte Moisture Tint (new for Fall 2013) to create a clean, natural base for the skin.  He used Jouer Tint in Peony on the cheeks for a flush, and a little Luminizing Moisture Tint above the cheekbones as a highlight.  Next he lined the eyes with a white kohl pencil liner, filled in the lid above the liner with an aqua-hued eyeshadow, and extended the blue shadow out a little farther than expected for added drama. To finish the look Neil used Jouer’s Hydrating Lipstick in Olivia (new for Spring 2013), topped with Jouer’s Essential Lip Enhancer for a shiny finish.
