New York Fashion Week: Backstage at Trina Turk Spring 2014

Hair: Martin Christopher-Harper for Cutler salon
Harper started by brushing the hair into a defined middle part and applying product according to the model's individual hair texture.  He used Redken Rootful 06 Root Lifting Spray for fine to medium hair, or Full Frame 07 Volumizing Mousse on the models with medium to thick hair, before blowing the hair dry.  He then used a 1 1/4" curling iron to create a little bend in the hair, giving the models soft waves.  Next, he brushed the hair out lightly with his fingers and finished with Redken Fashion Work 12 Versatile Working Spray for a soft hold.  He chose this product because he didn't want to make the hair look dehyrdrated like a salt spray can often do.  He wanted the hair to remain soft and flowy as it went down the runway.

Makeup: Stila
Turk's vibrant Spring 2014 colors were complemented with a bold pop of color on the eyes courtesy of Stila.  The skin was kept clean, with just a little Stay All Day 10-in-1 Beauty Balm (a personal fave) to even out the skin and concealer as needed.  The pop of color came from Stila Convertible Color in Gerbera on the cheeks, eyes, and lips.  Now that is what I call a multi-tasking product.  To create a California girl glow, Stila Custom Color Bronze was applied on each model (the shade self-adjusts to the PH of each person's skintone, so it's always the perfect color).  The look was finished with a little Stila Glamoureyes Mascara and groomed brows with Stila Stay All Day Brow Color.

Nails: Casey Herman for Julep
Herman used the Julep X Trina Turk collaboration color, Eileen (white), on the hands of each model.  She chose to keep the nails fresh and clean, moving the nail art to the toes.  On the toes she used Hayden (peachy sherbert) and created an accent stripe across big toe with Bethany (orange-coral).
