Those words, to me, are like waving a red flag in front of a bull. Journeying through a time where there was no instant information at your fingertips via computer, and somebody directed that phrase to me, I set out to prove them wrong, by research and sheer determination. "You can't cut that tree down-- you're a woman," I was told. So I retrieved a rusty old hand saw out of the garage, corralled the children in the playpen and cut that sucker down-- branch by branch day after day, until all that remained was a stump.
" You can't install an electrical outlet in the bathroom". Bought a book on electricity and had the hair dryer plugged in and humming by morning.
" You can't build a doghouse". "You can't lay tile" "You can't wallpaper your bedroom"
" You can't represent yourself in court.", etc. Yes I can. Yes I can. Yes I can. Yes I can...WATCH. ME.
To me, to be empowered is to be self sufficient, and I raised 3 daughters to be just that--
Empowered by self sufficiency, with absolutely no limitations!
Marthahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08632566064237586199noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-642784340952773297.post-46708601388470122832014-12-08T17:43:07.004-08:002014-12-08T17:43:07.004-08:00My #GirlsCan moment was to run the first marathon....My #GirlsCan moment was to run the first marathon. kraftmaking at gmail dot comHShttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01642217226129265734noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-642784340952773297.post-74174032755384177422014-12-06T16:31:18.010-08:002014-12-06T16:31:18.010-08:00As a mother of 3 girls I know that girls CAN.
