The best red nail colors for Valentine's day

Deborah Lippmann Nail Lacquer Ruby Red Slippers
Lippmann redefined the glitter nail polish market with her textural polish colors, but this one is a personal favorite of mine.  Inspired by Dorothy's famous kicks, this color is fanciful and fun, but there's also something sultry about it.  It's not juvenile...it's glitter for big girls.  The bright, ruby glitter is suspended in a darker shade of polish, making it both textural and sophisticated.  Perfect for a fancy event, a girl's night out, or to jazz up an all-black outfit.
Illamasqua Nail Varnish in Throb
This Nail Varnish is from their new I'm The One collection, which encourages people to cherish the one you love the most: yourself.  This collection encourages self-expression (like all Illamasqua products), and this blood red shade will have you feeling very saucy.  It's elegant, fiery, shiny, sleek, and sexy.  It's a traditional red, but better because of its high gloss finish, and its long wear.  This one is out just in time for V-day, but you'll keep coming back to it year-round.  (Plus, the name is amazing).
JINsoon Coquette
If you're a little flirt this V-day, whether with your significant other, or if you're on the prowl, this is a great color.  This one is a blue-red that is flattering on most skintones, and the color pay-off is incredible.  Sure, you're wearing it for Valentine's day, but you can bet that it will last well after... unless you spend your evening swinging from the chandeliers, in which case I will make no promises about your manicure lasting.  But I digress.  This nail polish is awesome, and so is this heart-shaped mani that you can make with it.
