New York Fashion Week: Backstage at Lela Rose Fall 2014

I always love when the backstage beauty look is sponsored by Beauty.com, because you know it will be cool, and it will be easy to find.  The Beauty.com team this time around consisted of Romy Soleimani using Boots No7 skincare and Kevyn Aucoin makeup, Ted Gibson using his own hair product line and styling with T3 hot tools, and Katie Jane Hughes using Butter London on the nails.
Makeup: Romy Soleimani
For these early morning shows (and this gross weather) the skincare is very important.  Soleimani started by misting the faces with Boots No7 Facial Hydrating Water Spray before applying Boots No7 Lift & Luminate Day Cream.  She also used Boots No7 Beautiful Skin Vitality Eye Roll-On, which has a slight, glittery sheen to it, which helped with the glitter eye look that she developed.  For the makeup, she started with Kevyn Aucoin The Primed Skin Developer, and followed it up with Kevyn Aucoin The Liquid Airbrush Foundation or Kevyn Aucoin The Sensual Skin Enhancer depending on the model's skin type.
On the eyes, besides the Boots No7 eye cream providing a little sheen, Soleimani also got a little sheen by using Kevyn Aucoin The Sensual Lip Balm as a base.  She applied Kevyn Aucoin The Loose Shimmer Shadow in Citrine over the whole lid, and then various sizes of gold and silver glitter, extending past the natural eye for a pixie-like effect.  She finished the look off with a natural lip, using Kevyn Aucoin The Lip Gloss in Dahliana.

Hair: Ted Gibson
Gibson gave the girls a hair look that he calls the “Twist and Shout”.  He started by applying Ted Gibson Build It Blow Drying Agent to wet hair, and then blow drying with the T3 Featherweight Luxe 2i.  Once the hair was dry, he created a center part, and curled the hair with a T3 curling wand to create texture.  Starting at the top of the part, he twisted one side all the way back to the nape of the neck and fastened with a pin, then repeated on the other side.  He connected the 2 side twists, and then twisted them together at the nape of the neck, tucking under into a bun shape.  He fastened with bobby pins, accessorized with a pearl bobby pin, and finished with Ted Gibson Beautiful Hold Hair Spray.

Nails: Katie Jane Hughes
Hughes started by applying butter LONDON Patent Gel Top & Tails, followed by butter LONDON Nail Foundation.  Next, she applied a diagonal stripe of color using butter LONDON Nail Lacquer in Alabaster Gaze (available April 2014).  She used 2 coats of the Alabaster Gaze, and topped it off with butter LONDON Patent Gel Top & Tails.  For a little added shine and healthy cuticles, she finished the models off with some butter LONDON Handbag Holiday Cuticle Oil.
