Date night makeup

As women I know we're always looking for the newest, coolest trends as far as our makeup or clothes go, but do trends always translate when you're out man-hunting?  Just because we see a bold eye backstage using red and orange shadow, with no mascara and bleached out eyebrows, does NOT mean we should head out on Valentine's day looking like that.  There's one makeup look that I think is timeless, and that is healthy, glowing skin.  That can't-tell-how-old-she-is, lit from within thing that you'll see on the runway, on celebrities, and on real women on the street.  I'm a long-time fan of this look, and you'll find my makeup closet filled with products that promise to illuminate the skin, rather than products with full-coverage that are meant to mask imperfections.  Jane Iredale is a favorite product line of mine because the products are packed with skin-friendly ingredients, so you don't have to worry about reactions or breakouts like you would with some other brands.  In fact, skin health is likely improved by wearing the makeup because of the infusion of Mother Earth's favorite ingredients.
Smooth Affair Facial Primer & Brightener ($48)
This stuff is pretty awesome.  I'm wearing it even on days when I'm not wearing any makeup, even though it is technically a primer.  It's got grapefruit extract, which minimizes the appearance, and algae extract that has all sorts of amazing anti-aging properties.  There's green tea and white tea leaf extracts in there for anti-aging.  Royal Jelly is in there for anti-inflammatory properties (and is that why it has such a deliciously lightweight texture?).  There's also coconut, aloe, olive, and honeysuckle in there for other skincare benefits.  Basically it's a product that does it all.  It's good for the skin, it smells good, and it looks great.
In Touch Highlighter Complete ($28)
This cream-to-powder formula gives you a glow without making you greasy.  It's a pale, lavender-pink, that gives you a sheer glow on your cheekbones, brow bones, cupid's bow, or décolletage.  It contains ingredients like algae extract, grapefruit oil, honeysuckle extract, and radish root extract to nourish the skin.
So Bronze Bronzing Powder ($42)
This mineral bronzer gives an incredibly natural, glowy effect.  No orange look here.
It contains pine bark extract; an anti-aging ingredient, and it calms inflammation.  It also contains pomegranate extract, which is an antioxidant, and also a natural preservative that allows the company to avoid putting bad preservatives in this product.
