Let's face it, people always want glowy, youthful skin, no matter the season. It's much easier to rock a bare face when the sun is shining, but much harder to achieve in dry, crackly skin weather like we deal with in November. Luckily I've found some gems recently to keep my skin looking healthy and not at all crackly.
Becca Shimmering Skin Perfector Pressed in Rose Gold (limited edition for holiday at B-Glowing.com) is just about the most perfect highlighter I've used in a while. It's not just because I'm a giant fan of all things Becca-related, but that doesn't hurt. It's because it's so pretty you won't even want to use it, because of its embossed design, but you should use it because the rose gold tone is flattering on absolutely every skin tone. It's the perfect thing to keep in your desk drawer to take your day look to a night look, but why save it for nighttime when you can be fresh and dewy all day? I use it on the high points of my face (upper cheekbones, cupid's bow, bridge of the nose) and sometimes even as an eye shadow.
Josie Maran Coconut Watercolor Cheek Gelée in Honeymoon Honey gives me the most natural looking flush ever. I discovered the cheek gelées recently in other colors, but a recent trip back to Sephora led me to this warm color. It looks pretty brown in the container, but the color is sheer and very neutral on the cheeks. It's a lot easier to pull off on the skin than a bright pop of pink, especially in the winter (but I have a feeling I'm going to be using this color year round). But it's not just pretty, it's hydrating with coconut water and Argan oil, so you can count on a youthful flush rather than a dehydrated face.
Jouer Age-Repairing Brightener in Neutral is much more than just a concealer, as the name suggests. Rather than being a thick, heavy cover-up, it illuminates the under-eye area to reduce the appearance of dark circles. This brightener contains concentrated ingredients like Orchid Complex, Camellia Oil, and Vitamins A, B & E, so while it's brightening your eyes, it's also nourishing the delicate under-eye area.
Perfekt Skin Perfection CC Creme is another genius product to recently come out of Perfekt's revolutionary makeup arsenal. As a company that specializes in lightweight, technologically-advanced makeup products, it's not a surprise that their version of the CC cream trend is as light and airy as you can possibly imagine. Like other CC's, it's meant to cover up redness, soothe the skin, and nourish it. What makes this one special is that it contains Hyaluronic microspheres to hydrate the skin, while aloe soothes, Vitamin C evens out the skin tone (making it look better with continued use) and Vitamin E protects from environmental stressors. But you'd never know it does all that since it's so airy, you just know that it makes your skin look fantastic.
Alba Good & Clean daily detox foaming cleanser is an important part of this list because a good makeup application is nothing if the skin underneath doesn't look good. This cleanser is gentle, but gets rid of makeup and impurities without having to scrub the skin. It's great for many skin types, including sensitive skin, because it contains botanicals, fruit acids, green tea, and rice to detoxify without stripping.
