Holiday gift-guide: sometimes the last-minute gifts are the best ones

Kevyn Aucoin Candlelight Kit ($120)- For the beauty guru in your life, you will probably blow her mind with this kit.  If she's not already on the Kevyn Aucoin Celestial Powder bandwagon, she will certainly thank you for getting her on it.  Obviously it comes with the Celestial Powder, but it also has a limited-edition eyeshadow palette, a Precision Liquid Liner, and a signature votive candle.

Lancome and Clarisonic limited edition gift set at Sephora ($199)-  For all the people out there who haven't tried the Clarisonic yet, or those who are already believers, this is a great gift.  The set includes a Clarisonic Aria and 3 sample sized Lancôme products: Crème Radiance, Visionnaire and Génifique.

A subscription to Glossybox-  You can gift one box, like a limited-edition Refinery29 box, or 3 months, or even 6 months worth of Glossybox.  The samples you get each month are always a good size, if not full-sized, and they're usually cool brands like Illamasqua, Zoya, Ole Henriksen, and Ellis Faas.

Fresh Sake and Seaberry Spa Retreat gift set ($75)- We all have a friend that needs to learn how to relax.  Most of us also have a friend who is very good at pampering herself.  This is a great gift for either one.  It contains a Searberry exfoliating soap to slough away dead skin cells, a Sake votive candle to set the mood, some Sake Bath for detoxing, and a Seaberry Restorative Body Cream to moisturize the skin once you're done with your soak.
Elizabeth Arden Red Door Spa gift card- This goes on the list because, let's be serious, who doesn't want to get a spa gift card?  But also because with every $200 gift card purchase, you get a complimentary $30 spa card to use.  It's perfect for the bride-to-be in your life or you mom, cause she deserves it.

A personalized Caudalie scrub at their new store location at 315 Bleecker St.  Sure you could go the easy route and buy their best-selling Crushed Cabernet Scrub because it's awesome, but if you're in the neighborhood you could do a personalized scrub with the receiver's name on it.  The all-natural ingredients you can choose from are oils like Juniper, Jasmine, or Rosemary, and it is all based around the grape seeds that exfoliate the skin.  The seeds in the Crushed Cabernet Scrub are already crushed, but the seeds in this scrub that you can buy at the store are whole, giving you epic exfoliation each time you use it.

My scrub that I made at the Bleecker St. location, cause of course I couldn't leave without one for myself.

A bottle of SkinnyGirl alcoholic beverages - I know booze is always a classic gift to give on holidays or for house-warming presents, but for the cool girl-in-the-know, it has to be SkinnyGirl.  It's the fun without the guilt, and maybe if you're lucky, the recipient will share with you.  If you know what the girl likes to drink, you can get her a ready-to-drink mixture like Peach Margarita (mmmmm!) or if it's someone you don't know as well, like a co-worker, you can go with the classic Bare Naked Vodka.  Get even more creative and create a recipe card to go with the vodka, and gift the ingredients to create an awesome cocktail.  Here's a great holiday recipe: the Candy Cane Martini.

1 part SkinnyGirl Bare Naked Vodka
1 part Peppermint Schnapp's
1 part fat free sweetened condensed milk
Shake together in a cocktail shaker with ice.
Strain into a martini glass.
Garnish with a mini candy cane.
(If it's someone you really like, why not gift the SkinnyGirl vodka, a recipe card, all the ingredients, and a cute martini set?!)

  1. I had a clarifying machine like the clairsonic years ago. Does this have removeable pads or is it a brush?
