My ride in the Carmindy Cab

Monday I had to opportunity to take one lucky reader with me to ride in the Carmindy Cab around Manhattan. Carmindy has been gracious enough to ride around the city in a cab giving women makeup "prescriptions" to product shades in her makeup line, Sally Hansen Natural Beauty Inspired By Carmindy. The biggest problem for most women is that they don't know what shades are right for them, so what is better than having a professional makeup artist tell you what to use? (And give you a free cab ride in the meantime).
Carmindy was teaching my reader, Debbie, and I all the tricks of the trade, including how to do a smokey eye.

Here are some other tips and tricks we learned on our ride in the Carmindy Cab:
My foundation shade: Your Skin Makeup Foundation in Sandy Beige. I make it no secret that a lot of makeup artists have trouble finding my correct shade, but Carmindy was able to nail it on her first guess. What makes her foundations so special is that, like all her products, the foundation is paraben-free, and packed with moisturizing ingredients. This particular formula is lightweight enough to look natural, but still covers flaws.

Tip from Carmindy: More people should use primer. This helps your makeup glide on easily and stay put all day. It diminishes the appearance of fine lines, wrinkles, and large pores. The primer below is the Luminizing Face Primer from the Natural Beauty collection, which gives skin a healthy glow and moisturizes with vitamin E.

Easy way to interpret a spring 11 runway trend: Forever Stay Moisture Gloss in Creamsicle. All over the spring 11 runways I spotted models rocking a peachy lip. This is super easy to do at home with this Creamsicle color, especially for those prefer a gloss to a lipstick. This is a long-wear gloss with vitamins A and E for moisture.

Product that looks scary, but you shouldn't be afraid of: Sheerest Cream Blush (shown here in Beaming). This is a creamy, sheer color that gives you a soft glow and just-pinched cheeks. This also has moisturizing properties because it's made with safflower oil, jojoba oil, and vitamin E.
