Current favorites: October edition

Sometimes there are tools you just can't live without in your beauty routine.  For me those things are a good blending brush, a brow gel, dry shampoo, a non-cakey concealer, and a good, mutli-purpose moisturizer.  The products on this list have become necessities in my daily routine, so it's only right to share the love.

COVER FX Liquid Foundation Brush
I love a good blending/stippling brush but often find it difficult to find a good one that's not made with animal hair or duo-fiber (aka part synthetic and part animal hair).  Fortunately this Cover FX brush is PETA approved, vegan, cruelty-free, and just happens to be a fantastic brush.  The flat head with super soft bristles is awesome for liquid foundation, cream blushes, or general blending needs.

Benefit Gimme Brow
This is a volumizing fiber gel for the brows that adheres itself to the brows you already have, plumping them up to give the appearance that they're thicker than they really are. It is water-resistant and totally natural looking, as well as easy to apply with the teeny tapered brush that can get even the sparsest of brows.  Plus it helps brows stay in place all day without looking stiff or sticky.

Josie Maran Argan Infinity Cream
I don't know if words can even describe my new-found love for this product.  It's an oil, but it's in a cream form (how do they do that?) and you can use it for all sorts of ailments.  Dry skin, taming flyaways, hydrating lips, as a cuticle cream, on cuts or bruises... the options are endless.  It sort of    starts as a cream and then melts into an oil, so it's good to use in your makeup application too (use as a highlighter on your upper cheekbones, or make cream formulas out of powder makeup).  It obviously contains skin-friendly Argan Oil, but it has a fresh scent that will have you trying to figure out new excuses to use it.  Which is totally fine, because this bottle will last you forever.

Perfekt Skin Perfection Conceal
Re-think your concealer.  You don't have to use something super heavy and cakey to cover up imperfections.  Perfekt products are all about faking a flawless complexion with lightweight, non-makeup textures, and this concealer gel is no exception.  It's SO light, because it's highly-concentrated.  Forget using a pea-sized amount with this stuff.  More like the size of a pin-head to cover your under-eyes and any blemishes on your face.  It won't feel like you have anything on, and you won't see any creasing throughout the day.  It really is a revolutionary formula.  It's water and sweat-resistant, and it's free of harsh ingredients like sulfates, parabens, or irritating fragrances.  I actually don't know what they put in it, but it's brilliant.

Alterna Cleanse Extend Translucent Dry Shampoo
I mean, with all the dry shampoos out there, you would think that more companies would be creating formulas with fresh scents to revive second-day hair.  Alterna's new Cleanse Extend Dry Shampoo comes in light scents like Sheer Blossom and Mango Coconut.  Besides the fact that they smell great, they revive the hair by soaking up oil with botanical cleansers, AND strengthen the hair with bamboo extract.  While the bamboo is strengthening, ingredients like Blue Yucca Root, vitamins A, B, & C, amino acids, and calcium are fortifying your strands.  If you're using dry shampoo to revive your style, why not use one that's making your hair healthier?  It also has a patented Color Hold® technology to keep color from fading.  It's all about making your style look good the next day AND in the long-run.  Not to mention the ingredients are eco-certified and fair-trade compliant (aka, they aid in supporting the development of local communities while helping mother earth's sustainability).  If all those reasons weren't enough, if you get yourself a bottle for the remainder of October, then 15% of the sale proceeds will go to Look Good, Feel Better; a program that is dedicated to improving the quality of life for people undergoing cancer treatments.
