Backstage at Tracy Reese Spring 2013

Tracy Reese's runway look for Spring 2013 is packed with great ideas that we can try at home!  From Mally Roncal's eye gloss to Tresemme's faux under-cut, and we can't forget that Tracy collaborates with Sally Hansen every Fashion Week for some cool, affordable shades.  This is definitely a show where the designer puts a lot of thought into what really matters to her customer.  Everything is well thought out, and very cool, having a powerful feminine edgy vibe.
Makeup:
Mally Roncal was giving the girls an almost slept-in, second day look.  She started with Beauty 24/7 Brow Express in Sable mixed with some of the Evercolor Starlight Waterproof Eyeliner in Midnight to create a really bold, dramatic brow.  Next she used Mally Beauty Age Rebel Shadow Stick in Chocolate Diamond and Evercolor Shadow Stick in Gunmetal on the lash lines, smudging it really well on the lower lash lines to give it that second day look.  Mally Beauty Volumizing Mascara finished off the eyes.  A major part of this look, as you can see from the video, is a multi-purpose gloss that hasn't been released yet, so stay tuned!  She also used a new lip gloss that has yet to be named, and she will be asking her dedicated Mally fans to help name the shade that she created for the Tracy Reese show.

Hair:
Jeannie Syfu led the TRESemmé team in giving the girls a faux undercut, which I am 100% trying myself this week.  Tracy gave Jeannie 2 images for inspiration, one being this slightly androgynous look, and one was of Rihanna's undercut, so Jeannie figured "why not do both?".  She started by prepping the hair with TRESemmé 24 Hour Body Blow Dry Lotion and gave the hair a rough dry so their natural texture would be enhanced.  She created a deep side part and continued back diagonally to the nape of the neck on the opposite side, holding the top section away from the other section with a clip.  She used an ample amount of TRESemmé Mega Firm Control Gel on the bottom section before creating a tight braid that would be hidden underneath the top layer of hair once it was released.  This gives the hair that faux undercut look, so the braid has to be really tight.  On the top section she sprayed TRESemmé Fresh Start Volumizing Dry Shampoo for texture, then used TRESemmé Mega Firm Control Gel again on the front of the hairline (not on the ends of the hair because she wanted that to stay wavy and natural looking).  She put hair clips into the front section of the hairline that was gelled to give a little height and blew the hair dry using a diffuser attachment.  After the gel dried the clips were removed and a touch of TRESemmé 24 Hour Body Finishing Spray finished off the look.

Nails:
Sally Hansen has collaborated with Tracy Reese for a whopping 14 Fashion Weeks.  Kind of amazing.  As usual, the Sally Hansen x Tracy Reese nail colors will be available in the spring, and they'll be budget-friendly at $7.99 a pop.  The colors from left to right are Hot Lava (orange/red), Soy Latte (creamy neutral), and Butterscotch (fun yellow pop).
