New Stila Fall 2012 Collection

Stila’s new fall 2012 collection is kind of major.  All of their advertising is encouraging users to “Makeup your own rules.”

Imagine that, shall we?  I’d like to live in a world where you MAKEUP YOUR OWN RULES about everything from beauty to fashion ( also to not answering to a boss every day and not sitting in a cubicle, but that’s a whole other tangent I could go on).  I feel like the blog world has encouraged people out there to embrace their own style, but we still have a long way to go in the beauty world I think.  People need to PLAY more with their makeup.  What’s the worst that could happen?  You have to wash it off and you’re a little late for work that day?  Whatevs!  It’s totally worth it when you stumble upon the perfect lip color for you, or the perfect texturizing spray that gives you perfect, sexy bedhead.  Let’s make up our own rules people!!!

Here are the new products in the collection to go along with the campaign:
Stay All Day Foundation & Concealer – $44
M.A.J.O.R.  This is an HD foundation that provides a nice matte finish, but the best part is that it’s available in 16 shades.  Any gal that’s ever had a hard time finding their shade can appreciate that.  Ok, is that the best part, or is the multi-purpose aspect of it the best?  It’s a foundation, but in the cap is a concealer that’s infused with vitamins A, C and E, along with a mini mirror and a brush for application.  That is a serious steal for $44.  I have brushes in my collection that cost that much on their own!

In the Know Eye Shadow Palette – $39
I just love matte makeup, so these 10 universally-flattering matte shades are a great buy.  You can create subtle day looks, or dramatic night looks.  You really can do just about anything with 10 matte shades.  If you’re a novice, there is an 8-page lookbook with tips and tricks from Stila's Global Creative Director, Sarah Lucero. The palette also comes with an exclusive shade of Smudge Stick Waterproof Eye Liner in Halfmoon (a matte charcoal grey).

Stay All Day Liquid Lipstick – $22
These days, you really should expect more from your lipcolor.  Is there a point in buying a lipcolor that's not long-wearing as well as moisturizing?  I think not.  These colors promise up to six hours wear and are enriched with Vitamin E and avocado oil. Available in 10 shades (pictured in Fiore below).

Stay All Day Waterproof Liquid Eye Liner in Snow ($20) and Smudge Stick Waterproof Eye Liner in Empress ($20)
The liquid liner is a matte white shade, while the smudge stick is a shimmering white.  Both are awesomely long-wearing and great for opening up the eyes. The marker-like tip makes the liquid liner really easy to use and the smudge stick is formulated with a blend or pearls, giving both of them a soft, smooth application.

Lip Glaze Trios in Foliage and Harvest – $12 each
Everyone already knows about these glosses with their pen-like applicators, but it's always a treat to see which new collections come out.  These autumnal colors are easy to wear and a great transition from summer to fall makeup.
