SkinnyGirl Shapewear giveaway!

Ah shapewear… before I reached the big 3-0 I was like “what is shapewear?”.  Most women who’ve sucked their butts into a pair of Spanx in their lifetime know that shapewear is a necessary evil (with a huge emphasis on evil).  They’re entirely too uncomfortable and expensive for my taste, but since I no longer weigh 120 lbs, I’ve had to learn my way around a pair of shaping shorts or two.
Despite what a literal pain in the ass shapewear is, it’s a big business out there in a world where everyone wants to look like Jennifer Lopez or Gwyneth Paltrow on the Red Carpet.  I have news for you ladies… even J Lo has to sausage herself into a pair of Spanx every now and then.  I doubt she complains about how expensive they are like I do, but I can guarantee that she thinks they’re slightly painful/uncomfortable.

Bethenny Frankel, who I’m convinced is on a mission to make REAL women’s lives more bearable, has a solution for us shapewear users.  First the SkinnyGirl Marg (delicious), then the SkinnyGirl Skin line (super affordable and amazing- try the detoxifying body mask!), and now she’s given us a blessing in the form of SkinnyGirl Solutions Shapewear.  It’s shapewear that’s not expensive AND is not embarrassing to be seen wearing.  I live with my boyfriend, and I’ve been spared any embarrassing Bridget Jones moments thus far, but wouldn’t it be nice to come home and take off your dress without looking like you’re wearing your grandmother’s undies?  Bethenny’s line features little cute lacey numbers that smooth you out, without painfully sucking you in because the material is stretchy rather than the vice-like material of some other shaper companies out there.  But the best part is not that it’s cute, and not that it’s actually comfortable.  The best part is by far the price.  EVERYTHING IS UNDER $65!  You can get yours at skinnygirlshapers.com or select Macy's stores.

And now for the GIVEAWAY!

One lucky reader will receive the black/nude lace shaping cami in a size Medium (retail value $38).  And since I'm feeling a little excited about the launch, I'm going to throw in a Vitamin C face scrub from the SkinnyGirl Skin line (approx retail value $7).

  1. I have bought shapewear from Victoria's Secret before. From my experience...yes, it's not very comfortable, but manageable on special occasions! I would love to try different brands to compare!

  2. I depended on shapewear after having all three of my kids. They can be a lifesaver.

  3. I own a few different types of shapewear and I think that ober the years I have purchased better pieces. I was never a small girl so I have been wearing shapewear for a while. I remember watching my grandma squeeze into hers and hearing my relatives reccomend that I get some. It has never been comfortable for me. I always felt trapped. I also always felt that no one could hug or touch me or else they would know that I was wearing some and I would feel judged. To this day I try to avoid contact when I am wearing shapewear so people won't know.

  4. I love Shapewear. It is not always easy to put on, but it makes you great once you do have it on. I like Spanx.
