Get the look: Gwyneth Paltrow and January Jones at the 2012 Met Ball

What did Gwyneth's and January's shining blonde locks have in common the night of the 2012 Met Ball? Besides hair stylist Giannandrea being in charge of making their hair sparkle for the event, the same secret ingredient was used to prep their hair for the event: Kerastase Elixir Ultime.

To get Gwyneth's look Giannandrea started by parting the hair in the middle very sharp, blew it out straight, and then flat-ironed it to make it super sleek. She used Kerastase Elixir Ultime to give the shine before brushing the hair against the scalp downward (on the sides) and backwards towards the nape of the neck before securing into a low ponytail. The pony tail was twisted using a bit more Elixir to give it extreme shine. She kept twisting Gwyneth's hair until it wound up on its own, and secured it with straight blonde pins.  To finish the look she left the ends of the hair out to give it an undone look, and finished with a bit of hair spray to protect against humidity.

To Get January's look Giannandrea used a volumizing mousse on the roots before blowing the hair out with a round brush.  Similar to Gwyneth's hair, she used a flat iron to give extra sleekness, but then used a large barrel curling iron to round the ends under.
She finished the hair with Kerastase Elixir Ultime to leave hair shiny, supple, and protected against the humidity.
