New York Fashion Week: Lela Rose AW2012

There's been a serious return to ladylike glamour so far for Autumn/Winter 2012 Fashion Week.  20's-inspired finger waves and updo's, red lips, and cat eyes have been beauty staples so far, but it's been all about the feminine dressing, and Lela Rose has been no exception.  This collection is inspired by Spanish architect Santiago Calatrava, whose work is all about beautifully-sculpted bridges.  This inspiration can be seen in Lela's use of angular silhouettes like standaway busts, but the bodies are still fluid and wearable.

And of course we can't talk about Lela's collection without talking about the fun Payless shoes we're going to see in the fall.  Pictured below are the Lucern; a pump featuring a tufted heel, ankle strap, platform sole, and zipper up the back.  The collection also includes a cocktail shoe (the Cascine) and a pump with a wooden heel and copper nail heads (the Merida-seen in picture towards the top of the page).
