New York Fashion Week: backstage at Cynthia Rowley AW2012

The hair was all about texture.  The models hair was wrapped in what has to be the smallest curing iron I’ve ever seen and set with pins to cool.  After the hair was set, stylists went in with brushes to comb out the tight curl and rough up the texture, before molding the hair into unique up ‘dos.

Lottie was the lead makeup artist for MAKE UP FOR EVER and, not wanting to distract from the intricate neckwear of some of Cynthia’s line, she opted for a very natural face. It was all about dewy skin and perfectly-groomed eyebrows. Lottie started with moisturizing the skin (because isn’t that they key to everything?!?!) and then used HD Foundation mixed with Uplight #12 to create the glowy skin finish.

After that eyebrows were combed, filled in with Waterproof Eyebrow Corrector if there was any sparseness, and sealed with MAKE UP FOR EVER Brow Seal (a great transparent gel to try at home).

Cynthia chose 3 shades of Zoya nail polish for the models.  Each girl would get a different combo of Dea (a soft brown), Cynthia (a blackened teal), and Christina (a white/grey shade).
