Holiday gift guide: gifting nail polish to friends and loved ones

I love giving nail polish as a stocking stuffer during the holiday season.  It's great for that office buddy that you are only allowed to spend a certain amount on, or it could be the finishing touch to awesome gifts you've already bought for your sister.  Regardless of the reasons, it's generally a fun and inexpensive gift to give.  And what girl honestly doesn't enjoy getting nail polish?  Here are some of my faves:
For the person with classic style (or for your boss)- Chanel Particuliere nail lacquer is classic, classy, and great for a multitude of skin tones.  This was given to me as a gift last year from a friend, and it was one of my favorite gifts!  And let's be honest, it's always nice to have something from Chanel for Christmas, eh?

For the DIY guru or the person that’s always on-the-go- A Red Carpet Manicure system is a little bit of a splurge compared to the others on this list at $57.94 for the starter kit, but when people are paying $30-$40 a pop for gel manicures in a salon, this is really cost-effective.  The starter kit comes with everything a person needs to get a lasting gel manicure at home, including a portable LED light, a beautiful red shade to get you started (Red Carpet Reddy), instructions on use, and the gel polish remover for when you're ready to take it off.

For the boisterous personality or funky fashionista- Deborah Lippmann has great glitter polishes, but one of my favorites is Across The Universe.  Lippmann's glitter polishes are differentiated from other brands by the chunky, various sizes of glitter that really pop.  I bought this particular one to wear to a holiday party recently and just can't stop wearing it.
For the mom/mother-in-law- Essie's Angora Cardi, like Chanel Particuliere above, is timeless, effortless, and chic.  And for $8, you can probably use the money you saved to actually buy her a real angora cardi...
For your office Bestie- Butter London has the wittiest names for their super-fun polishes, but the real beauty is that their polishes are 3-Free (free of nasty ingredients like formaldehyde, toluene, and DBP...free of parabens as well!) I've been in love with this purple color, Marrow, which was their first color I ever bought for myself.
For the beauty blogger, in case you happen to have one in your life- This is the ultimate in nail polish gifting.  The Sephora by OPI Glimmer Wonderland gift set ($48) has 18 mini polishes for whatever the person's mood.  That will keep them occupied for a while!
