New and noteworthy products

L'Oréal Professionnel Mythic Oil ($29)- An incredibly lightweight hair oil, Mythic Oil is a multi-use product that provides nourishment for the hair.  Avocado oil is rich in fatty acids, omegas 3, 6, & 9, vitamins A, B, and D, but then they combine it with Grape Seed oil to get that extra kick of moisturizing agents and anti-oxidants.  When used as a styling product Mythic Oil is said to reduce blow-dry time, detangle hair, and nourish.  When used as a finishing product the oil seals the hair, preventing frizz, and adds shine.  The oil can also be used as an intense deep-conditioner if it's left on overnight.  Hair is left smelling fresh and feeling healthy.

Dermalogica Overnight Repair Serum ($60)- This is a great overnight treatment that stimulates collagen production in the skin, but can also become a nighttime relaxation ritual with its aromatic oils.  Argan oil and brown seaweed are some of the ingredients that protect the skin's lipid barrier and fight free radicals, but it's the scent of Jasmine, Ylang-Ylang, and Neroli (among others) that will keep you coming back night after night.  Dermalogica recommends applying the Overnight Repair Serum and then gently pressing on these 8 Acupoints pictured below for the ultimate relaxing ritual.

Living Proof's RESTORE hair care line- The scientists out of Cambridge, Massachusetts strike again.  The Living Proof team changed the way we looked at our hair with their No Frizz line, but they're back for more with the line that promises to restore damaged hair to its virgin state.  The mission is not to cover up the problems of over-processed hair with a hefty coating of silicones like other products out there, but to beef up our hair's protective layer, making it more resistant to the damage that we do.   The formula is completely weightless, but the hair cuticle is smoothed and more resistant to breakage after just a few uses.  The main ingredients that make this possible are Living Proof's patented PolyflouroEster, creatine, wheat protein, and Tucuma See Butter... this dynamite formula smells fresh, gets hair clean, leaves it with weightless shine, and protects hair against future damage.  Don't believe the hype?  Well I'm one of those people that uses harsh chemicals to color my hair, and then, to pack a nice punch, I straighten my hair with a flat iron that reaches 450 degrees.  This is my hair after using the Restore haircare line after about 2 weeks (and during that 2 weeks I have not relented with the hair dye and the straightening iron, but when I straighten my hair I've been using Living Proof's Straight Spray).

I've noticed my hair feeling healthier, and absolutely becoming more manageable.  I use the Restore Shampoo and Conditioner ($28 each) every few days.   I've used the Restore deep conditioning Mask Treatment ($42) once a week.
