New York Fashion Week: Backstage at Venexiana

I don't think I've made it any secret lately that I'm obsessed with Becca Cosmetics, so I was really excited to hear that they were going to be doing makeup backstage for the Venexiana SS2012 show. The look was super glamorous, slightly Gatsby-esque, and a little bit rocker with extreme false lashes and dark, brooding eyes.
First models were prepped with Becca's Resurfacing Primer, before adding coverage with their Stick Foundation, and setting the skin with Fine Pressed Powder. Becca Soft Touch Blush in Songbird gave a subtle flush to the cheeks.
After the face was complete, the emphasis was all on the eyes. First the brows were shaped with Becca Brow Shaping Gel for the perfect shape before starting on the eye shadow. The new fall Prairie Moon Palette was the foundation for the eye look.
Eye Colour Powder in Nappa (a greyish-green) was the first color used from the palette, along the outer rim of the top and the lower lash line. Next the Voile shade (a creamy off-white color) from the palette was used on the inner corner of the eye, and then swept out to the center of the eyelid. Next a single Eye Colour Powder was used in Suede (a rich, chocolate brown) in the same area as the Nappa shade to increase the intensity of the lash line. Next Becca Jewel Dust was used in Xantho (golden bronze) or Nyx (bronzy plum) on the top lid and the outer corners of the eyes for some shimmer. The inner rims of the eyes were lined with Automatic Eye Pencil in Majorca (black) before applying strips of false lashes to the top AND the bottom for a doll-like effect.
Finally lips were coated with Becca Lip & Cheek Créme in Petal, followed by Glossy Lip Tint Frappe for fair or medium skin tones, or Frisco for darker skin tones.
