Beauty minis: the essentials

So my 10 day girly vacation is officially over and, needless to say, I'm pretty sad about it. There's always a silver lining though, and I think that a week's worth of beauty mini posts is nothing to be sad about. So to finish off the vaca properly I thought we could talk about the essential minis that I can't travel without.

Mini Pink Leopard BronzerDeluxe Lash Injection

Too Faced mini lash injection and pink Leopard mini bronzer-

These Too Faced mini products are as adorable as they are effective. The Lash Injection ($9.50 for mini, $21 for full size) is a waterproof formula that comes in Pitch Black or Chocolate Brown. It has a 3D coating technology as well as a curling formula, so it’s pretty fool-proof as far as mascaras are concerned. The Pink Leopard Bronzer ($12.50 for the mini, $28 for the full size) is great for makeup rookies and experience beauty mavens alike. The pink and tan tones give you a flawless application that’s good on multiple skintones. To my makeup amateurs: you should always look for a multi-colored blush/bronzer in my opinion. They are SO versatile and easy-to-use. With the Too Faced minis and the Boscia Blotting Linens below, you could fit all 3 products in your clutch and still have room for your cell phone!

Jurlique mini hand sanitizer ($6.50 for the min, $15 for the full size)-

This naturally kills germs without parabens, sulfates, artificial colors, or artificial fragrances. It smells absolutely delicious because of Jurlique’s proprietary blend of natural anti-oxidants, and also protects the skin while it’s killing germs. In addition to the proprietary blend, there is Australian Bush Mint, which is known for it’s natural antibacterial and anti-microbial properties. I carry one in my makeup kit and in my purse at all times! With the amount of time I spend in NYC subways, it can’t hurt to have this on hand.

Fab smooth shave cream ($7.50 for the mini, $16.50 for full size)-

I'm admittedly lucky in the body hair department. I don't need to shave nearly as much as some of my peeps, but I do spend a lot of time in the sun, which is why I love this shave cream. It's so gentle on the skin so you don't have to worry about further irritating sunburnt skin. The formula is fragrance-free, allergy tested, paraben-free and colorant-free, but I love the added tea tree oil for softening purposes. Not to mention the product has antioxidants like licorice root and white tea to keep those limbs looking as young as they are smooth.

Cetaphil skin cleanser ($3.49) and moisturizing lotion ($3.29)-

These pint-sized potions are also great for after-sun skin, or just for sensitive skin in general. The dermatologist-recommended formulas have been around for a long time, and it’s because they work! Clean, moisturized skin, at an affordable price.

Boscia Green Tea blotting linens ($10)-

These little gems fit in the smallest bag you can find. If all you have is a clutch, you can still remain shine free. I carry these everywhere with me because no matter your skin type, you can always get a little shiny at the end of a long day. These take all the shine out but leave all the makeup on, and you can feel good about dabbing your T-zone with these because they are 100% natural.

Vichy Thermal Spa Water ($8 for the mini)- This spray is great for cooling down after the beach, or for refreshing your makeup mid-day, but it’s actually good for the skin as well. This Spa Water is enriched with 15 minerals with natural antioxidant properties to reinforce the skin’s natural barrier. The beautiful thing about it is that it comes from nature, so you can feel good about using it on your skin. But you don’t have to believe me…just check out the customer reviews on the Vichy website. All 5-star reviews and positive results.

Goody gel cushion brush ($4.99 for the purse size)- The brush is made to eliminate static and frizz, but I love that it’s soft to the touch and doesn’t pull my hair. The unfortunate thing about having sort of fine, curly hair is that when I wake up in the morning it can be a tangled mess. I can’t tell you how many brushes feel like they’re ripping my hair out when it comes to the tangled ends, but not this one! I own the big size as well and I love them both.

Alba Botanica Very Emollient Sunblock SPF45 ($9.99)-

This organic sunblock goes on more like a lotion than a high SPF sunscreen and the lavender smell most definitely smells better than your average sunblock. It’s made with lavender, chamomile & aloe vera to soothe the skin, and green tea & vitamin E for antioxidants.

Macadamia Oil travel set ($29.95)- Everything you could possibly need for your hair on a trip is in this kit. There is a mini shampoo, conditioner, leave-in cream, Healing Oil Therapy, and an oil-infused comb to make sure your ‘do is moisturized and frizz-free on the road. This is a good kit to get to know the line if you’re hesitant to buy the full-size product at first. The products contain macadamia nut oil and argan oil (my fave!), and I’m simply fascinated by the fact that they baked the healing oil in to a wide-tooth comb. So even when you’re combing your hair, you’re adding moisture back in to it, minus the sticky residue that you’d find if you were applying oil with your hands.

So that’s it peeps! My favorite travel must-haves. Click on any of the images for purchasing information.

Many thanks to the brands listed above for sending me my favorite travel must-haves before my trip!
