My vacation beauty + Dior promo code

I know you missed me while I was gone… but as promised, here is my list of beauty items that got me through an amazing romantic vacation in Mexico. I was looking good and feeling good, mostly because of the wonderful food and weather, but I’d be a fool to think that some of these beauty products weren’t responsible for my beachy beauty looks.

Dior 5 Colours iridescent eyeshadow in Earth Reflection- ($58) I love a bargain just as much as the next gal, but there’s something to be said for a good quality eyeshadow. (And this is actually not a bad deal for 5 shadows). This was sent to me to review for you as part of my Glambassador duties, and I’m in love. The golden color in the top left corner this compact was perfect for my day looks on vacation. Just one sweep across the lid and I was good to go, and it lasted all day, even in the heat. For night time I layered on the darker colors for a smokey eye and used the lightest as a highlighter under my brow bone and on the inside corner of my eyes.

You know what’s even better than a quality eyeshadow? FREE SHIPPING from Dior.com! Enter the promo code GLAM2 at checkout to receive free shipping on your order, courtesy of Dior and Glamour magazine.

Blow NY’s Body By Blow no crunch body builder- ($19.75) I know all my curly girls are familiar with the benefits of a good non-crunchy, non-sticky mousse, but my straight-haired friends can benefit from the use of this as well. I love Blow products because they are sulfate, paraben, and sodium chloride-free, but this lightweight mousse also has a UV filter that came in very handy under the harsh sun. This product is meant to protect hair from heat styling and various other damaging agents, while giving you body and shine, not weighing hair down or feeling sticky. Though I didn’t do much heat styling while I was away on vaca, I was definitely under a lot of sun and heat, but this kept my curls tamed and gave me wonderful lift at the roots. I’m definitely hooked.

Sensai sun protection creams for face and body- I know I’ve already done a post on these products, so I’ll spare you the ranting and raving, but I’ve absolutely never used such delicious sunscreen on my body. These products don’t smell like other sunscreens, and they definitely go on smoother. But mostly I just felt like I got an even tan without the fear of sunburn. I felt protected, but didn’t feel like I was covered in thick white gunk.

Laura Geller Spackle under makeup brightening primer in Ethereal- ($27.50) This makes the perfect makeup base, but I was wearing it by itself during vacation for luminous skin. It gives you a smooth, even complexion with light reflectors, aloe, chamomile, mallow flower, marigold, corn flower, white tea, and licorice root extracts. That's a great combo of anti-inflammatories, soothers, and anti-aging ingredients. When worn und

er makeup it helps to create the perfect, poreless canvas to help your makeup glide on easily.

And of course we need to talk about what I wore!

While I spent most of my time in swimsuits, shoes and sunglasses played a huge role in my suitcase being as heavy as it was.

Hilary B. sunglasses by Foster Grant ($14.99)- totally obsessed with these sunglasses, and so is my wallet. The fronts are black, but the pop of color on the sides adds an unexpected twist.

They also go perfectly with my Vix Swimwear cover-up that I used for most of the vaca.

More on some fab Foster Grant sunglasses later...

Now that it's getting warmer, I should confess I have a little bit of an obsession with Sam Edelman sandals. I purchased the Kendall wedges in white and the Gigi sandals with this cute pop of coral on them.

Oh, I suppose I should mention I also bought these wedges from ASOS. Do you think I brought enough shoes with me?

So there you have it peeps... the lowdown on what I wore on my feet, my head, in my hair, and on my face. I couldn't wait to get back to tell you all my beauty secrets. Now if only I could take vacations like that all the time...

Many thanks to Dior, Sensai, Blow NY, Foster Grant, and Laura Geller for providing me with the samples posted about above.
