New York Fashion Week: Carlos Miele AW2011

Carlos Miele AW2011 was an elegant collection with just enough color do drag me out of my winter doldrums. Tulip-shaped silhouettes played a big role, from the jackets to the flowy trousers.

Backstage the lead Maybelline makeup artist was Gato Zamora. He was calling the makeup look of Miele’s show “The Golden Age” because of the beautiful skin and delicate gold touches on the face. First Maybelline Fit Me! Concealer was applied to the t-zone to give the skin a flawless finish.
Next Gato applied Fit Me! Blush in Medium Coral to give the cheeks a subtle glow.
The gold really came in to play with the eye makeup, where Gato used Eye Studio Color Plush Silk Eyeshadow in Give Me Gold.

Gato used the gold shade to highlight the inner corners of the eyes, and the bronze shade to add warmth up to the crease. To really make the eyes pop, he used 2 coats of Volum’ Express The Falsies mascara.

On the lips Gato used Color Sensational Lipcolor in Totally Toffee for an earthy look, but then topped that color, and completed the entire gold look, by applying Color Sensational Lipgloss in Sandstone Shimmer. This gloss added just the right amount of gold flecks to add shine and bring the whole thing together.
