Mauboussin launches new E-boutique

There it is. The invite that changed a rather awful day in to a really amazing one. This past Thursday was an terrible day for my fashion career. You may not know this, but I have a full-time job as well as this blog. So, no, I don't get much sleep. Though I don't talk much on this blog about my day job, I'm going to break my silence this one time to discuss how badly my day had gone, so that you can know how fantastic the MauboussinE-Boutique launch party was.
Basically I've been working in the fashion industry for almost 8 years as an account executive for a fashion brand (which will remain nameless). Though it sounds exciting, it's a job like any other. I get in at 9:00 every day and slave away in my cubicle, crunching numbers and trying to make the business work in an economy that's still a little unstable. I'm very lucky to have worked at a reputable company for that amount of time, especially in this industry and this economy. That being said, one of the things about my job that made me feel like the luckiest girl in the world was my mentor. A woman not much older than I, Mentor Lady took me under her wing about 5 years ago and started grooming me in to the business woman that only she knew I can be. She became much more than a co-worker, as she became a trusted confidant and one of my closest friends in the world.
Well ladies and gents, my mentor resigned on Thursday. It's taken all my willpower to not cry every single minute since then. What can I say? I'm a cryer. I cry at romantic comedies. I cry at that damn ASPCA commercial where they play Sarah McLaughlin in the background. And yes, there is a rumor going around that I cried when Optimus Prime went down in Transformers 2. Anyways, what I'm getting at is that Thursday SUCKED for me.
And then there was the Mauboussin party. My blogger friends dragged me, kicking and screaming from event to event on Thursday. In hysterics over my emotional day, still limping like crazy from my knee surgery a few weeks ago, I was certainly no fun to be around. (Ah, who am I kidding? Get a few glasses of champagne in me and I'm a blast). We had strategized to end our evening at the super-chic Mauboussin boutique on Madison Avenue. The plan was to celebrate the launch of Mauboussin's new E-boutique with champagne and macaroons. This store is a fairy tale for any girl that dreams of diamonds. Don't even get me started about the top floor, where all your wedding fantasies can play out and nobody will make fun of you. I absolutely went up to the top floor to act out a pretend marriage proposal in my mind and choose the engagement ring that I want. I also picked out the delicate diamond wedding band that I must have. Don't judge. All women think about it, whether they admit it or not.
But never in a million years did I think that my business card would be the one that they pulled out as the raffle winner of the Amour, Nuit Coquine, Nuit Câline watch! (My French is a little rusty, but I know it means something about love being all naughty and snuggly...Which is basically how I try to live my life these days.) Yes, the Twitter rumors are all true. I won the watch, and there may be pictures floating around of the complete and utter shock on my face when I won.
Let's get a close-up of this watch, shall we? This thing is so delicious. Black satin strap. Mother-of-pearl bezel with diamonds. Black dial with diamonds. Oh, and when they went to fit me, it didn't even need to be adjusted. It was meant to be mine!

So am I the luckiest gal in the whole world? I feel like I'm probably up there towards the top of the list right now. Some days you feel down, but then something great happens to lift you right back up. I feel so lucky to have won the watch, but more lucky to have such phenomenal people around me. Bloggers who drag me out when they know I need a drink. Bosses that become more than bosses, they become sources of inspiration. A family that loves me. And I'm not gonna lie, watches help.
Please visit the Mauboussin E-boutique. It is to die for. Whether you have fantasies of your wedding day (stop lying, I know that you do!), or you are in the market for a gorgeous watch like the Amour, Nuit Coquine, Nuit Câline, Mauboussin has the answer to your prayers.
Thank you Mauboussin!

  1. I like dragging you around, in particular now that you have a gimp, because this way someone is always slower than me since I walk so slow. Congrats and you did need that drink on Thursday.

  2. Hmmm, the rumor I heard was that you cried during Megan Fox's "emotional" scene with Shia that incorrect?
