Golden Globes hair with stylist Creighton Bowman

Creighton Bowman used René Furterer hair products to style 2 big stars for the Golden Globes: Melissa Leo (winner for best supporting actress for her role in The Fighter) and the ever-elegant Helen Mirren. Bowman tells us how to achieve Leo's textured up 'do and Mirren's sophisticated short style.
For Melissa Leo (wearing Marc Bouwer):

« starting with towel-dried hair, Bowman applied René Furterer Modeling Paste at the crown. He then worked René Furterer Tonucia No Rinse Densifying Mousse through the rest of Melissa’s hair.

« using his blow-dryer on low, he gave her hair a soft blow-out to maintain the natural texture.

« Next, he curled her hair with a 1" curling iron to enhance her waves. Spraying sections with René Furterer Vegetal Finishing Spray before curling helped to set curls, but left them soft enough to manage without flaking or pulling during styling.

« Next Bowman sprayed her hair with René Furterer Naturia Dry Shampoo, lightly back-combed hair at the roots, and then pinned hair into a classic French twist. He left a few pieces loose around Melissa’s face to soften the look.

« He finished by misting hair with René Furterer Vegetal Finishing Spray to add hold that would last all night.

For Helen Mirren (wearing Badgley Mischka):

« Starting on wet hair, Bowman applied René Furterer Volumea Volumizing Foam, and gave Helen’s hair a blow-out, brushing random pieces in different directions.

« For body, he set the top layers of her hair in small Velcro rollers, using René Furterer Vegetal Finishing Spray to lock curls in place.

« He gave the rollers time to cool while her makeup was being applied, then removed the rollers, sprayed hair with René Furterer Naturia Dry Shampoo and brushed it through.

« Lastly, he used a combo of René Furterer Styling Wax and Modeling Paste, rubbing it in the palms of his hands and then smoothing it over ends of her hair for a sleek finish.
