Last minute gift idea: Christmas tree in a jar

My boyfriend and I didn't have time to get a Christmas tree this year. How sad is that? Only in New York... Anyhoo, I opted for a smaller, more practical solution: Thymes Frasier Fir candles. While getting a Christmas tree in to a NYC apartment can be a struggle, finding a space on your counter for a candle is usually much easier to accomplish. But the point is not convenience, is it? The point is THAT SMELL. That smell that reminds you of childhood and playing around the Christmas tree. Of ornaments and tinsel. Maybe it brings back memories of Christmas tree hunting with friends from college that first year you got to move off-campus in to some run-down shanty of a house. But it was your house and your first tree together, so that made it awesome. Now that you've graduated from college and you're in the "real world", maybe you can't fit a tree in to your apartment, maybe you don't want to either if you live on the 4th floor of an East Village walk-up, but you can still have that smell.
Thymes Frasier Fir candles are a blend of Siberian Fir needles, cedarwood, and sandalwood. In a word: Christmas. The minute I lit this candle I realized that it would be a great gift because of the smell, and because it's reasonably priced. The votives are at $11.00, with bigger sizes available for $26-$46. The reed diffuser set makes a nice gift at $60, and the refill oil is only $29.
