Samantha Thavasa by Tinsley Mortimer Fall 2010 collection

For the Samantha Thavasa by Tinsley Mortimer fall 2010 collection, Tinsley drew her inspiration from one of my favorite subjects: 80's hair bands. With names like Def Leppard and Whitesnake, these bags invoke a certain nostalgia in me that makes me a little teary-eyed and feel like dancing on top of a bar. Granted, I was nowhere near legal drinking age in the 80's and certainly don't make a habit out of dancing on bars (wink), but I appreciate the music nonetheless.

The line replicates the feeling of 80's glam rock with details like chains on the Metallica bag and tie-dye on the Whitesnake bag.

There's even a bit of lace and corset-like detail on some of the bags. Although the line is 80's-inspired, the silhouettes are modern hobos and clutches.
