Borghese's Fango Active Mud For Face And Body

I'm treating myself to spa treatments at home this week in preparation for next week's Spa Week, and one of my favorite skin revitalizers is Borghese's Fango Active Mud for Face and Body ($33.50-$61). I learned about this product when I asked fellow blogger from My life on (and off) the guest list if she had any good recommendations for a clay mask. She told me she had something better than clay, she had active Italian mud. Huh? Sounds gross, but it's actually rich in nutrients to improve skin tone. She then told me that there were little gremlins inside of the mud that work to clear out your pores, and that they don't get vacation days. Ever the gullible creature, I decided to try it. Although I found out that there were no such gremlins, I did feel a strange tingling feeling (not intense or painful, just strange). I suppose that's why they call it "active" mud. When I removed the mask my pores were clear and they appeared smaller. What I liked the most about the mask though was that it wasn't over-drying, as many of those masks tend to be. You can also buy the giant-sized tub and use this on your entire body if you so desired. This is great for people who get the dreaded Back-ne.

Now I'm gonna drop some knowledge on you that might seem strange: I used it on my feet this morning. Before you judge me, let me tell you that the results were awesome. Any city-dweller has experienced dirty-sandal-feet, but nobody wants to talk about it. I take excellent care of my paws, and am always experimenting to find new ways of sloughing off dead skin &/or moisturizing. Fango Active Mud was actually a nice surprise (although it did tickle quite a bit). You have to put lotion on after you use it obviously, but patches of dry skin around the heels were noticeably softer after I did this. The only problem with this little experiment is that you have to be prone for 5 minutes, which is really hard for me to do.
